AIR POLLUTION: INVISIBLE TOXINS

Many of us are familiar with the notion of air pollution, but few are aware of
the many kinds of pollution we are exposed to, where pollutants can be
found and how to protect oneself or one’s family Significant sources exist
in our homes, and it is probably best to open windows whenever possible,
or when the weather does not permit, to use air purifiers. Keep in mind that
air “fresheners” are actually sources of air pollution, since they contain
volatile organic compounds which have been linked to various health
problems. Some authors believe our homes are a far greater source of
pollutants than anything we encounter outside. This is almost certainly
true in some cases, but probably not in all. Here are examples of toxins we
are apt to breathe in (Sources: Choked, by Beth Gardiner, The Invisible
Killer, by Gary Fuller, and Clearing the Air, by Tim Smedley):

Radon gas
Carbon Monoxide gas
Lead particulate matter which is inhaled as dust
Ozone
Smoke and other particulates
Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (from gasoline, especially diesel)
Sulfur oxides
Nitrogen oxides
Mold and mycotoxins
Agricultural products
